PARIS – Paris Francophone Institute for Freedoms denounced on Monday, the arbitrary arrest of Palestinian student from the West Bank without being charged.
Paris Francophone Institute, an international human rights group, said in a press release that Palestinian Authority’s Preventive Security Service (PSS) has been holding the student Ahmed Fakhr Eddine Majadbeh from “Alar” in Tulkarem for 26 days. the
The Institute said that he was arrested after being called to the interview, and that no specific charges have been brought against him, nor has he been brought before the court or enabled to meet a lawyer.
Ahmed’s family complained in a statement to the Paris Institute that his son had been held in confinement since his arrest in inhuman and degrading conditions and had not been brought before a court at that time.
Paris Francophone Institute for Freedoms demanded an urgent release of the student and end his arbitrary detention, which lacks any due process.
The Institute called upon the Palestinian Authority and its security services to stop their abuses against the university students and human rights activists and to stop their detention without any legal basis, as a violation of their obligations under international conventions and laws.
