Investigation of Swedish journalist published Insulting Muslims cartoons
STOCKHOLM – Jean Sejensson, the former editor-in-chief of a newspaper of Sweden’s Democrats party known for its hostility to immigrants, has been investigated for sharing offensive cartoons of Muslims with social media.
Sejensson made a full statement to the police today on the cartoons and wrote on social media that he had refused to be charged with a hate crime and considered his publication of the cartoons as free expression.
Prosecutor Ann Leiden said in a press statement that an investigation had begun with Sejensson for a hate crime through social media and a lawsuit could be brought against him at a later stage
One drawing shows a boy throwing stones at a girl, with the comment “Mustafa also wants to participate.” The other drawing shows two men in Arab clothes torturing someone, with a comment “With my father at work.”
